Papers, 1926-2003.

The collection consists of writings, galley proofs, photographs, slides, clippings, correspondence, an oral history transcript, and a scrapbook. These documents provide a glimpse into his pedagogical philosophy; the research materials reveal Faison's professional interests, and manuscripts and drafts demonstrate his approach to the writing process. He has a striking number of letters from students which attest to his impact as an educator, mentor, and art historian. There are very few files which deal directly with the courses he taught--practically no lecture notes or syllabi.
